Nam Dinh province organizes 5th Patriotic Emulation Congress for the 2020-2025 period on September 9th with the participation of Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh, leaders of Nam Dinh province; Heroes of the People's Armed Forces, Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, and Labour Heroes of the Innovation period and over 350 advanced examples.
Speaking at the event, Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh applauded Nam Dinh Province for its remarkable socio-economic achievements and encouraging outcomes in implementing the patriotic emulation movement in recent years.
Over the past five years, emulation movements in the province have achieved significant results in fields of economy, politics, society, education, culture, defence, security and Party building, thus contributing to realizing the province’s development goals.
The Vice President asked the provincial Party Committee and authorities to continue to thoroughly grasp the Party and State’s guidelines and policies on emulation and rewards, particularly Politburo Directive 05-CT/TW on accelerating the study and pursuit of President Ho Chi Minh’s thoughts, morals and lifestyle.
In the coming time, emulation movements in the province should focus more on building a strong and transparent political system, promoting cultural traditions, consolidating solidarity, and mobilising human resources for further development, she emphasized.
She said that the province needs to accelerate administrative reform, increase the Provincial Competitiveness Index, develop clean and organic agriculture, and build new-style rural areas.
The Vice President emphasized that Nam Dinh province has to regularly review the emulation movement to promptly identify collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements for timely honours and rewards.
According to Chairman of the Nam Dinh Provincial People's Committee Pham Dinh Nghi, the province's patriotic emulation movement in the period of 2020-2025 set out practical and efficient goals, suitable for each locality and unit to promote socio-economic development.
Nam Dinh province strives that by 2025, the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) will increase on average 8.5-9.5%/year; per capita income will be over 100 million VND/person/year; and the rate of trained employees will reach 80%. The rate of poor households, not covered by social protection policies, will fall below 0.15%. The province will have 50% of the districts reaching the new-style rural standards; and Hai Hau will be recognized as a model new-style rural district.
In order to make Nam Dinh become a developed province by 2030, the Chairman of the Nam Dinh Provincial People's Committee proposed that local authorities, agencies, units, organizations and individuals in the province perform well four emulation movements launched by the Prime Minister, including: the whole country works together to build a new-style rural areas; Vietnamese enterprises integrate and develop; the whole country joins hands for the poor - don't let anyone be left behind; and cadres, civil servants and public employees emulate to perform the office culture with specific and practical targets, associated with the implementation of political tasks and local practical conditions.
At the event, Nam Dinh was awarded the Prime Minister’s Certificates of Merit for its excellent performance in 2019.
On this occasion, 10 collectives and five individuals who have made contributions to the province’s socio-economic development were also presented with the Prime Minister’s Certificates of Merit./.
