At the event, Director of Ho Chi Minh City’s Department of Home Affairs Huynh Thanh Nhan announced Resolution 1111/NQ-UBTVQH14 by the National Assembly Standing Committee on the arrangement of administrative units at district and commune levels and establishing Thu Duc city under Ho Chi Minh City.

One of the contents of the Resolution is to establish Vo Thi Sau ward, District 3, on the basis of the whole natural area and population of Ward 6, Ward 7 and Ward 8. Accordingly, Vo Thi Sau ward, District 3 has the natural area of 2.2 km2 and a population of 36,735 people. After the arrangement, District 3 has 12 wards.

According to the roadmap, the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee directs the arrangement, establishment and merger of the organizational apparatus of Party organizations, socio-political organizations of Vo Thi Sau ward; appointing the Executive Board, Secretary and Deputy Secretary of Vo Thi Sau ward before January 14, 2021. The People's Council of Vo Thi Sau ward will appoint the Executive Committee, Secretary and Deputy Secretary of Vo Thi Sau ward before January 14, 2021. The People's Council of Vo Thi Sau ward will elect positions within its authority on January 15, 2021. A ceremony to announce and debut Vo Thi Sau ward will be held on February 4, 2021.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council Nguyen Thi Le proposed that the Steering Committee implement the arrangement of administrative units in District 3 in the period of 2019-2021 and asked Party committees, authorities and people of the ward 6, ward 7 and ward 8 focus on communicating the content of Resolution 1111/NQ-UBTVQH14 to all classes of people, agencies and businesses in the area so that the local people can understand the significance of the merger of wards 6, ward 7 and ward 8.

After Vo Thi Sau ward is debuted, the administration of the newly-established ward should focus on promoting the people's resources in association with stabilizing the local socio-economic situation. At the same time, it must ensure welfare and      social security, improve the material and spiritual life of the people, pay attention to policy, and meet the development requirements of District 3 in the coming time.

Among the important tasks is to promote the leadership role of the Party organization, build a lean, strong, effective political system, in combination with continuing to maintain political security, social order and safety in the area. In addition, it also focuses on consolidating the administrative apparatus organization of Vo Thi Sau ward, ensuring the continuous and effective operation of the political system./.
