On July 2nd, the party congress officially opened in Hanoi with the participation of 230 delegates representing 8,000 party members from 605 party organizations.

By the end of 2020, revenue of Viettel is estimated to reach more than VND264 trillion, a 18.5% rise from the beginning of the term. Over the past 5 years, the group created over VND1.2 million billion, equivalent to Vietnam’s total revenue in 2019. Its budget collection always leads the country with about VND40 trillion a year.

During the 2020-2025 term, Viettel aims to transform its telecommunications service provider into a digital services provider, increasing revenue to new products and services on a digital platform.

Additionally, the group will also participate as a nucleus in the construction of high-tech industrial complexes, with the focus on promoting research into the production of weapons and strategic equipment and devices for national defense and security.

In his speech at the event, Senior Lieutenant General Tran Don, Deputy Minister of National Defense, said the group should focus on building development strategy, transforming into 5G network and increasing digital shift; creating business models with superior advantages in technology and products.

He also asked Viettel to constantly increase revenue and contribute more to the State budget, contributing to socio-economic development./.
