President Nguyen Xuan Phuc on April 23 presented three Independence Orders and a Labour Order to former leaders of the Ministry of Construction to recognize their contributions to the country’s construction sector and the building and development of the nation in general, said the Nhan Dan newspaper.

The awardees of Independence Orders included former Minister of Construction Pham Hong Ha and former Deputy Ministers of Construction Bui Pham Khanh and Nguyen Dinh Toan, while former Deputy Ministers of Construction Phan Thi My Linh was presented with the Labour Order.
Speaking at the event, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc praised the awardees’ efforts to fulfil their tasks as assigned by the Party and State, setting themselves as examples in leading, directing, and uniting the construction sector together.
He stressed that in recent years, the construction sector has promoted its role as a spearhead economic sector while enhancing administrative reforms, which has contributed to improving the country’s business environment.
He asked the ministry to focus more on developing material industries based on environmentally friendly and energy-saving technological applications, accelerating sustainable urbanisation, regulating the real estate market, building new-styled rural areas, and increasing the capacity of the construction sector.
He also called on joint effort to realise the ministry’s set targets for the next five years, which will contribute to the implementation of the socio-economic goals set in the 13th National Party Congress.
He expressed his belief that the construction sector will gain further success and make more practical contributions to the country’s development./.
