(13th Congress) - Vietnamese Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long on April 22 held an online meeting with his Cambodian counterpart to update information and share experience in COVID-19 prevention.

During the meeting, Minister Nguyen Thanh Long stated that Vietnamese experience in COVID-19 prevention is to mobilize the entire political system and the people to participate in prevention. In treatment, all involved treatment facilities are connected to exchange, discuss and consult difficult cases.
"In this third wave, although there are many serious cases, we have successfully treated them; there are no deaths," he said, adding that the Vietnamese medical facilities were willing to connect with Cambodia's COVID-19 treatment facilities.
He added that Vietnam is also willing to send doctors and experts to discuss with Cambodian treating doctors for the most effective treatment of COVID-19 patients.
According to Minister Nguyen Thanh Long, the Vietnamese Government mobilized the resources of the State and people to support Cambodia with 800 breathing machines, 2.3 million medical masks and other medical equipment. "This is one of the biggest supports of Vietnam to countries’ COVID-19 prevention,” he confirmed.
Minister Nguyen Thanh Long also thanked Cambodia for its interest in and assistance to the Vietnamese living in Cambodia in health care and COVID-19 prevention, expressing his hope that Cambodia will quickly overcome the difficulties and challenges in the fight against the COVID-19 epidemic, protect the health and lives of Cambodian people, including Vietnamese people living in Cambodia.
At the meeting, the Cambodian Minister of Health sincerely thanked Vietnam for its concern on COVID-19 prevention in Cambodia./.
