He recognized and appreciated 15 ideas contributing to the draft documents of the city’s 17th Party Congress. A majority of the ideas agreed with the main tasks and solutions specified in large working programs in the next 5 years.
He urged all agencies and the whole political system to continue to realize the call of Party General Secretary and State President Nguyen Phu Trong, and the central and city documents on COVID-19 prevention, mobilizing all resources to prevent and push back the pandemic, for protecting people’s health and lives, resolutely not letting the pandemic spread widely.
“Preparations to deal with possible large-scale outbreaks have to be made thoroughly,” he said, adding that the city Party Committee must effectively combine prevention of the pandemic and boosting socio-economic development.
According to Secretary Hue, although production and business activities resumed in May with a majority of indexes increasing, due to COVID-19, some indexes such as export turnover, number of tourists and newly-established businesses, budget collection, and disbursement of public investment, see low increase or reduction compared to the same period last year.
As a result, he asked all sectors to drastically carry out solutions to recover and maintain growth, create jobs, increase budget collection and ensure good demand-supply, for realizing socio-economic development targets at the highest possible level.
“The city must continue to further improve the business and investment environment while increasing activities to attract investment, improving the Provincial Governance and Public Administration Performance Index (PAPI) and the Satisfaction Index of Public Administrative Services (SIPAS),” he went on to say.
He also requested the city to tackle obstacles for public investment projects and public services, especially in projects inaugurated to welcome the city’s 17th Party Congress and the 13th National Party Congress.
“In particular, sectors and agencies should launch emulation movements on public investment disbursement and FDI attraction, together with awarding capable cadres and strictly punishing irresponsible individuals and collectives,” he said./.
