Over the past 5 years, the city public security forces have actively mastered, analysed and given forecasts in line with the factual situation; realized well its consultancy and struggled against criminals and law violators; efficiently prevented the hostile forces' conspiracies and activities; reduced crime; maintained political stability, ensured national security and social order and safety.

Accordingly, the forces have discovered 21,844 criminal cases, including 438 serious cases; and eliminated complicated criminal and social evils cases. 80.46% of cases have been investigated successfully, while the figure for serious criminal cases reached 98.4%, reporting an increase compared to the previous term.

Addressing the congress, General To Lam, Politburo member and Minister of Public Security, stressed that ensuring security in the city must be realized at the highest level; therefore, the city public security forces should not be negligent in a single minute.

He asked the forces to promptly give consultancy to the city Party Committee and People’s Committee to carry out solutions ensuring security and order; rapidly address cases relating to security and order; and continue to realize the Party guidelines and policies, as well as the State law, the city Public Security Party Committee and the city Party Committee guidelines.

Meanwhile, Vuong Dinh Hue, Politburo member and Secretary of the city Party Committee, suggested that the public security forces should attach importance to disseminating political education, raising the awareness and standpoints and developing firm political stuff among Party members, cadres and soldiers; and absolutely struggling with irresponsible persons. 

“Leadership should continue to be renewed to develop a really revolutionary, regular, elite and modern public security force,” he said.

During the congress, 26 Party members were elected to the city Public Security Party Executive Committee term 2020-2025. Major General Nguyen Hai Trung was elected Secretary of the city Public Security Party Committee./.
