(13th Congress) – Saigon Tourist Holding Company (Saigontourist) should find solutions to have the most direction and change activities to adapt to the COVID-19 era when the world is strongly affected by the pandemic which is expected to continue in the coming time.
Politburo member and Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh city Party Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan made this comment at the 5th Party Congress of the Saigon Tourist Holding Company for the 2020-2025 term held on August 27.

Hailing the achievements the Party Committee made over the past time, Mr. Nguyen Thien Nhan agreed with contents set by the draft political report of Saigontourist Party Committee while suggesting that the company should have specific assessments and more effective solutions to change activities.
He stressed that Vietnam is now one of the 26 safest countries in the world, however it is also heavily affected by the pandemic. From this context, the company should find solutions to have good direction and change activities to adapt to COVID-19.
Saigontourist needs to quantify to locate its position in the overall tourism of the city and the country. This assessment must be made monthly and annually to have specific orientation in development, affirming its position to tourism of Ho Chi Minh city in particular and Vietnam in general.

According to a report at the congress, over the past 5 years, goals and tasks of the Resolution of the 4th Saigontourist Party Congress were completed. Specifically, the growth rate of revenue, profit and state budget collection always reached annual target. The Party Committee always thoroughly grasped policies, guidelines of the Party and State to well implement the set targets and the strategic target “Brand – Technology – Sustainable Development”.
Total revenue in 2015 reached more than VNDS17 trillion. By the end of 2019, the revenue posted over VND20 trillion, up 13.8%. Annual profit growth hit 0.3%. During the whole term (2015-2020), budget collection was estimated at VND18.06 trillion, monthly average income reached VND13.1 million a person, up 30.2% from the beginning of the term.
For Party building, the Party Committee has continuously strengthened and improved the quality of party grassroots organizations, cadres and party members and strictly implemented activities of Party cell.
At the congress, delegates approved the Resolution of the 5th Saigontourist Party Congress (term 2020-2025). In the next 5 years, the company strives to affirm itself as one of the leading tourism groups in Vietnam and the region in the fields of accommodation - cuisine – travel – entertainment – training and supporting industries, to create an ecosystem to meet the diverse and high-class needs of customers.

In the next five years, the Party Committee also defined some specific targets: total revenue by 2025 reaching VND30 trillion with an average growth of 24.7% and monthly average income by 2025 reaching VND20 million a person. In the field of accommodation, the company strives to manage an additional 1,500 four to five-star rooms.
The Congress also approved the election result of the Executive Board of the Saigontourist Party Committee with 21 members and the delegation to attend the 11th Ho Chi Minh city Party Congress with 4 official delegates and 1 alternate delegate. Mr. Pham Huy Binh was re-elected as Secretary of the Party Committee, while Mr. Nguyen Binh Minh was re-elected as Deputy Secretary./.
