Politburo member and Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has presided over a meeting in Ho Chi Minh City to give comments on the draft political reports of the municipal Party Congress for the 2020-2025 tenure.

Mr. Phuc spoke highly of the development solutions proposed by Ho Chi Minh City.
At the meeting, Member of the Politburo and Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan said this is the sixth time Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has chaired the meeting with the city, showing the special care of the Government and the Prime Minister towards the city. After this meeting, the city will finalize the final draft report to submit to the Politburo in the near future.
The city leader also expressed his wish to receive comments on the draft document and four projects on a new development model of the city, which is the formation of a creative urban area in the East of the city and is the nucleus of economic development of the city; implementing urban government for effective and strict management of a densely populated city; and institutions for the city development as a regional and international financial center.

Concluding the meeting, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc emphasized the spirit of Ho Chi Minh City for the whole country, and the whole country for Ho Chi Minh City. Therefore, the development breakthroughs mentioned in the document of the City Party Committee Congress are not only of interest to the city party members but also to people nationwide. In which, Ho Chi Minh City is identified as a center of economy, culture, science, education, health and international integration.
An economic hub of the nation, HCM City should focus on innovation and the Fourth Industrial Revolution by applying criteria of the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals.
The Prime Minister also pointed to some shortcomings such as unexpected economic growth, big gaps in living standards, and social problems./.
