On July 23rd, the Party Central Committee (PCC) Commission of Economics held a conference to review its work from January to June and orientations for the rest of the year.

From January to June, the commission focused on firmly and synchronously implementing the professional tasks in 2020; and coordinated with relevant agencies to research and timely consult the Politburo and the Secretariat on solutions to cope with and run the economy in the context of COVID-19 pandemic.
The commission has collaborated with the PCC Office to finalize the draft to submit to the Politburo for consideration and issuance of Resolution 55-NQ/TW on strategic orientation for national energy development of Vietnam until 2030, vision to 2045, on February 11th, 2020; presided over and coordinated with the southern Can Tho City Party Committee and relevant agencies to develop and complete a project reviewing Resolution 45-NQ/TW of the Politburo on building and developing Can Tho city in the national industrialization and modernization to submit to the Politburo, appreciated by the Politburo and agreed to issue a new resolution; and coordinated with Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee and concerned agencies to make a project building and developing Thanh Hoa province until 2030 and vision to 2045 to submit to the Politburo. Based on the project and from practical requirements, the Politburo agreed to issue a resolution on building and developing Thanh Hoa until 2030 and vision to 2045.
The commission also coordinated with agencies and localities to make several projects to submit to the Politburo such as the project on training and cultivating state enterprise managers, the project renewing the mechanism of decentralization of management and allocation of state budget to ensure the leading role of the central budget, and the initiative of local budgets, agencies, relevant units.
Facing the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on Vietnam’s economy, the commission has actively advised and proposed the contents of socio-economic response and development in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Politburo member, secretary of the PCC and Head of the PCC Commission of Economics Nguyen Van Binh appreciated the efforts of the commission’s staff. He also asked officers and employees to continue upholding the sense of responsibility and efforts to fulfill the assigned tasks in the rest of 2020./.
