Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Central Agencies Bloc Lai Xuan Lam attended the meeting.

Secretary of the 8^th Party Committee of Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations and Chairwoman of the Union of Vietnam Friendship Organizations Nguyen Phuong Nga delivered a speech to open the Congress.

The political report at the Congress stated that during the past term, the Party Committee of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations has made fundamental changes in its operation, strengthening and improving effectiveness in all aspects of work, creating positive changes in the Party Committee and the agency, making an important contribution to the successful completion of the political mission of the Union. The Party Committee has successfully completed the Resolution and basic objectives set by the 8th Party Congress, tenure 2015-2020.

Participants heard the report of the 8^th Executive Board of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations Party Committee, tenure 2015-2020; draft action programme to implement the Resolution of the 9^th Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations Party Committee, tenure 2020-2025; and the summary of comments to the Document of the 13^th Party Committee of Central Agencies Bloc.

In the spirit of democracy, solidarity and unanimity, the Congress elected the Executive Board of the 9th Party Committee of Vietnam Union of Friendship Associations, tenure 2020 - 2025, including nine comrades. Mrs. Nguyen Phuong Nga, Secretary of the 8^th Party Committee, and Chairwoman of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations, continued to work as secretary of the 9^th Party Congress of Vietnam Union of Friendship Associations, tenure 2020 – 2025./.
