He made the statement during his attendance at the 23rd Congress of Quoc Oai district Party Committee, term 2020-2025, on July 22nd.
According to the political report presented at the Congress, despite many difficulties and challenges, over the past 5 years, the district's economy continued to develop stably, with the average annual growth rate of 11.7%, and per capita income of VND55 million per year, 1.9 times higher than 2015.
The report also pointed out the weaknesses in development, including economic growth not fitting the potential, low increase in the agricultural, forestry and fisheries growth at an average of 0.46% per year, compared to 2.3% in target, and slow attraction of investment.
Speaking at the Congress, Secretary Hue expressed his consensus with the district’s solutions until 2025 for building Quoc Oai with comprehensive, rapid and sustainable development, thus satisfying new style rural area criteria in combination with urban development and urban economic growth.
According to the Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, in the coming years, as the world and regional situation will continue to see complicated and unpredictable developments, and the COVID-19 pandemic will continue to have strong impacts on the socio-economic situation of the whole country, Quoc Oai must continue to both boost socio-economic development and effectively prevent COVID-19 by promoting the district’s potential and working out development solutions as the city’s satellite urban area.
He noted that Quoc Oai district needs to strengthen the planning and management, quickly coordinate with city departments to make Quoc Oai town ecological planning, boost sustainable and balanced development between cultural, historic and natural environmental factors, as well as with Day and Tich river landscape areas.
"One part of Quoc Oai district belonging to the Hoa Lac urban area has been approved by the Prime Minister as Hanoi’s satellite urban area and is considered a development nucleus in the capital’s western gateway in accordance with a high quality modern urban model,” he added./.
