He also urged the city to improve personnel work; promote administrative reform, complete the model of smart city and digital authority; and strengthen the relationship between the Party and the people, creating a consensus to build the city for ever more development.

“Da Nang should focus on well implementing key and breakthrough tasks in building the Party, authority and political organizations; improve the quality of human resources to meet the requirements of rapid and sustainable development; synchronously implementing solutions to overcome the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic, soon regaining socio-economic growth momentum,” he said.

According to Mr. Binh, Da Nang city must promote investment promotion, especially among strategic investors with high technologies; solve arising social problems, build a worth living city; develop and propose plans on the orientations for the development of the central region in which Da Nang is the core of development.

In the 2015-2020 term, Da Nang city has focused on developing the city in three breakthrough directions on socio-economic strategy; drastically implement environmental protection and climate change response, prevention and control of natural disasters and pandemics.

Da Nang is always in the group of 5 leading localities in the provincial competitiveness index (PCI); with 11 consecutive years leading the country in the readiness to apply information communication and technology (ICT Index); and a locality that is consistently ranked in the top group of administrative reform rankings.

Major international events are regularly hosted by the city, gradually making it a city of events. In 2017, the 2017 APEC Summit Week was held in Da Nang, with the participation of leaders of 21 leading economies and businesses in the world, and over 10,000 delegates. The comprehensive success of the 2017 APEC Summit and other major events in recent years has shown its ability to meet human and infrastructure conditions and its willingness to host events. The international stature of Da Nang, leaving many deep impressions of the dynamic, peaceful and hospitable city image, opens up many new opportunities for city development investment in the coming years.
