(13th Congress) – On October 22, Politburo member and Standing Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Tong Thi Phong visited and gave presents to people in Thua Thien Hue province’s Phong Dien and Quang Dien districts who are seriously affected by floods.

During the visit, she appreciated the efforts of authority and armed forces for coping with the consequences of the floods.
She and the working delegation shared difficulties with the losses of families and the family of martyr Nguyen Van Binh, former Chairman of the Phong Dien district People’s Committee.
NA Standing Vice Chairwoman Tong Thi Phong presented VND400 million to local residents, suggesting localities continue to mobilize all resources to support residents in overcoming the consequences of the floods, including sending food support to isolated areas.
“Phong Dien and Quang Dien districts are seriously affected by floods and landslides,” she said. “I want to send regards and share the hardship with the army, public security, authority, fatherland front, unions and people.”
