On October 22, Deputy Secretary of Hanoi City Party Committee and Head of Hanoi City Party Committee Commission of Popularization and Education Nguyen Van Phong received member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Chairman of the National Border Committee Le Hoai Trung.
Over the past years, Hanoi has always accompanied and actively supported the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in all activities. It is also directly involved in foreign affairs and makes an important contribution to the implementation of the country's foreign affairs.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung affirmed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs would continue to advise the Government on the expansion of economic and cultural cooperation of the country to the international community, including the capital city Hanoi.
Mr. Trung requested the city to further invest in the preservation and promotion of Thang Long Royal Citadel, as well as other intangible cultural heritages such as ca tru and gastronomy culture.
Deputy Secretary of Hanoi City Party Committee and Head of Hanoi City Party Committee Commission of Popularization and Education Nguyen Van Phong announced the success of the 17th City Party Congress.
He also emphasized that Hanoi has clearly defined the role and responsibility of the capital in the process of international integration. This was clearly shown in the Political Report and concretized in the theme of the 17th City Party Congress, for the 2020-2025 term.
Mr. Phong also affirmed Hanoi would actively work with the whole country in making long-term integration orientations. In particular, in the next five years, Hanoi aims to integrate and compete with major cities in ASEAN; by 2030 the goal is to be on par with major cities in Asia and by 2045 to achieve global integration.
Hanoi has diplomatic relations with more than 100 capitals of countries around the world. Mr. Phong expressed his hope that in the future the Ministry of Foreign Affairs would continue coordinating with the city to expand foreign relations with the capitals of more countries; creating favorable conditions for Hanoi to host international cultural and sporting events, opening up opportunities to promote the unique culture of the capital to international friends./.
