The report at the congress said that over the past five years (2015-2020), emulation movements have contributed positively to the socio-economic development of the province. The average Gross regional domestic product (GRDP) over the past five years of 2016 – 2020 is estimated to increase 9%/year, exceeding the set target of 8.6%/year, higher than the national average. Thai Binh province has completed the task of building a new–style rural areas in the whole province, 3 years ahead of the target set by the 19th Provincial Party Congress.

In the period of 2020 - 2025, the patriotic emulation movement of Thai Binh province will focus on striving to complete the socio-economic development targets in 2020 at the highest level, creating momentum for successful implementation of the socio-economic development plan for the period of 2020 - 2025; promote communications, continue to effectively implement Directive 34-CT/TW of the Politburo on innovation of emulation and award work; promote the role and responsibility of leaders; and innovate, improve quality and efficiency of emulation and award work.

Speaking at the congress, the Vice President appreciated the achievements of the province in emulation movements over the past five years, which have contributed to boosting socio-economic development, political stability and Party building, as well as developing a strong political system.

She asked the provincial authorities and people to apply President Ho Chi Minh’s thought of patriotic emulation in all sectors and missions.

According to the Vice President, the province should focus on major tasks, programs and breakthroughs to improve the quality of emulation and reward work.

She also emphasized that it is important to pay much attention to praising individuals and collectives who have gained outstanding achievements in patriotic emulation movements.

At the congress, on behalf of Party and State, Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh presented the first-class Independence Order to the Party, authorities and people of Thai Binh Province.

In addition, she also presented scholarships worth VND500 million to outstanding local students./.
