Addressing the congress, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Party Central Committee Commission of Popularization and Education Vo Van Thuong praised the results that the Party Committee, government and people of An Giang province over the past term. In order to realize the goal of building the province to become the leading group of the Mekong Delta, he requested the congress to carefully discuss the limitations, clearly analyze the causes, especially the subjective causes and take remedial measures.

He also asked the locality to strongly exploit the province's comparative advantage, clearly define key sectors and fields to enhance cooperation and link development with other provinces and cities in key economic regions in the Mekong Delta, with Ho Chi Minh City and other localities in the country; implement the project on sustainable development association for the Long Xuyen quadrangle sub-region on the basis of promoting the specific strengths of each locality for mutual development; focus on the leadership, directing the building of mechanisms and policies, mobilizing resources for effective implementation, avoiding spreading.

Vo Thi Anh Xuan elected Secretary of An Giang Provincial Party Committee

The An Giang Provincial Party Congress elected the 21st An Giang Provincial Party Committee's Executive Board, for the term 2020-2025, including 48 people.

The congress held the first session of An Giang Provincial Party Committee’s Executive Board to elect the Standing Board of 14 people.

Ms. Vo Thi Anh Xuan was elected as secretary of An Giang Provincial Party Committee, for the term 2020-2025. The two deputy secretaries were Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for the term 2016-2021, and Mr. Le Van Nung, Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee, for the term 2016-2021.

Congress elected 18 official delegates and 2 alternate ones to attend the 13th National Party Congress./.
