Promoting Vietnam – US cooperation relationship

He made the statement at a farewell meeting hosted by Nguyen Van Nen, Politburo member and Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, on April 12.

During the meeting, Ho Chi Minh City Party Secretary Nguyen Van Nen expressed his pleasure at the comprehensive Vietnam-US partnership that is growing stronger and deeper in all fields, based on mutual trust and respect.

He highly appreciated the contributions made by the US Ambassador to Vietnam during his tenure, with many activities to promote cooperation between Vietnam in general and Ho Chi Minh City in particular with the US. For Ho Chi Minh City alone, the US has become an important partner in many fields.

Congratulating Ambassador Daniel J. Kritenbrink for his nomination as Assistant Secretary of State in charge of East Asia and Pacific, he expressed his confidence that the ambassador will successfully complete his duties at his new position.

He added he hoped that in any position, Ambassador Daniel J. Kritenbrink will contribute to nurturing a comprehensive partnership between Vietnam and the US in general and cooperation with Ho Chi Minh City in particular. “Ho Chi Minh City is always ready to cooperate with the US Embassy in Vietnam and the US Consulate General in the city to contribute to further promoting the comprehensive Vietnam-US partnership,” he went on to say.

Ambassador Daniel J. Kritenbrink expressed pride in the great achievements in the US-Vietnam bilateral relationship in many fields, benefiting both sides.

Showing his good feelings for Ho Chi Minh City, as well as Vietnam, Ambassador Daniel J. Kritenbrink pledged to contribute to promoting the good cooperation between the US and Vietnam./.
