- In 2021, the Dak Lak Department of Industry and Trade will promptly implement
renewable energy projects approved by the Prime Minister, ensuring the best
exploitation of the potential and strengths of renewable energy, striving to
make it become the renewable energy center of the Central Highlands region.

According to Mr. Luu Van Khoi, Director of the Provincial Department of Industry and Trade, joining the whole country’s efforts in both fighting COVID-19 and boosting economic development, the industry and trade sector in the province is determined to follow resolutions, programs and work plans of the Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People's Committee and the Ministry of Industry and Trade, to carry out the professional tasks for gaining the best results.
He added that there is currently a wind power farm project in the province with a capacity of 28.8MW, invested by HBRE Wind Energy Solution Joint Stock Company. All of the 12 wind turbines have been constructed, and 11 have been put into commercial operation as of October 2020, producing 26.4MW. The remaining turbine is being repaired for operation.
The province has 9 projects with a total capacity of 742 MW that have been added to the electricity development plan; in which, 3 projects are approved by the Provincial People's Committee with a total capacity of 785MW; 10 projects with a total capacity of 776 MW were submitted to the Prime Minister by the Ministry of Industry and Trade for power supplementary plan; and 30 projects with a total capacity of 8,138.3 MW were submitted by the Provincial People's Committee to supplement the electricity development plan.
In terms of solar power projects, 10 projects with capacity of 960 MWp in the province have been put into commercial power generation operation. Up to now, 3 projects have been approved by the Prime Minister to be added to the electricity development plan with a total capacity of 480 MWp. The remaining 22 solar power projects with a total capacity of 13,768 MWp are submitted to the Prime Minister by the Provincial People's Committee and the Ministry of Industry and Trade for being added to the electricity development plan. As of December 31, 2020, the province had 5,367 rooftop solar power projects that generated commercial electricity with a total capacity of 648.9 MWp./.
