(13th Congress) - On April 12, a delegation of the National Election Council, led by Senior Lieutenant General Vo Trong Viet, Chairman of the NA’s Committee of National Defence and Security, inspected and supervised the implementation of the election of deputies of the 15th National Assembly (NA) and People’s Councils at all levels in Ba Ria – Vung Tau province.

Senior Lieutenant General Vo Trong Viet highly hailed the thorough grasp and good implementation of preparations for the election of deputies of the 15th National Assembly (NA) and People’s Councils at all levels in Ba Ria – Vung Tau province.
Mr. Vo Trong Viet asked the southern province to continue to localize and firmly grasp the area, especially complicated places and issues; bring into play the responsibility of secretaries, deputy secretaries of party cells, and head of population groups so that election activities continue to achieve good results.
Chairman of the Ba Ria – Vung Tau People’s Committee Nguyen Van Tho stressed that in the near future, the province will actively complete the work of verifying applications; researching and evaluating comments on candidates; organizing the third consultative conferences; and checking and making detailed statistics of voters being farmers and workers temporarily residing in the locality.
Ba Ria-Vung Tau has established 91 Election Committees from provincial to communal levels, 638 Election Boards and 814 Election Teams in 814 polling stations. The province has 2 constituencies to elect 6 deputies to the 15th NA. After the second consultative conferences, there were 11 candidates, including 1 self-nominated candidate.
For the election of the provincial People’s Council, Ba Ria-Vung Tau has 11 constituencies to elect 52 deputies. After the second consultative conferences, there were 94 candidates, including 1 self-nominated candidate./.
