HCMC has 29 self-nominated candidates for deputies of NA and City People's Council

The information was released by the Personnel Sub-Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) Election Committee on late March 14.

According to the sub-committee, from February 22 to 5pm of March 14, the HCMC Election Committee received 227 dossiers. Of which, there are 54 dossiers of candidates running for deputies of the 15th NA and 173 dossiers of candidates running for deputies of the HCMC People's Council.

Among 54 dossiers of candidates running for deputies of the NA, there are 16 self-nominated candidates. Among 473 dossiers of candidates running for deputies of the HCMC People’s Council, there are 13 self-nominated candidates. There are 8 individuals who self-nominate both deputies of the 15th NA and deputies of the HCMC People Council for the 2021-2026 term.

After being received, the dossiers will be handed over to the Standing Board of the HCMC Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee. The 2nd consultative meeting will be held on March 18 to make a preliminary list of nominated candidates and self-nominated candidates. Before March 19, HCMC will submit the dossiers of candidates running for deputies of the 15th NA to the National Election Council.

According to the HCMC Election Committee, HCM City has 10 constituencies to elect 30 NA deputies. Meanwhile, 32 constituencies will elect 95 deputies of the HCMC People’s Council./.
