Bac Ninh started COVID-19 vaccination on March 11.

Up to now, the Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial Steering Committee on COVID-19 Prevention have issued nearly 800 guiding documents, along with initiatives such as directing text messages to more than 700 heads of villages, quarters, communes  and districts.

The province also set up inspection teams to work in areas facing high risks of reporting the pandemic, such as bus stations, schools, daily markets, and enterprises with a large number of workers, thereby preparing scenarios on pandemic control as well as making ready conditions for isolation facilities, hospital beds for hundreds of patients, drugs and other medical equipment. In particular, thorough preparations have been made for those on the front lines of fighting the pandemic that frequently contact patients and are at high risk of infection. Besides, the province has many solutions to tackle difficulties for people and businesses such as tax deferral, extension of tax payment and financial support.

Over the past 1 year, along with the whole country implementing the "dual goal" of both fighting the pandemic and boosting economic development, Bac Ninh has achieved many positive results.

Bac Ninh was the first province to propose the Government allow experts to enter Vietnam. It has attracted USD967 million from foreign investment, accumulating up to USD19.9 billion; attracted additional VND10.66 trillion from domestic investment; presented industrial production value of VND1.3 million billion, ranking first nationwide; reported export turnover ranking 2nd nationwide; GRDP per person ranking 3rd nationwide; the rate of schools meeting national standards ranks first in the country; the rate of national standard medical stations ranking first in the country; the ratio of doctors per 10,000 people ranking 5th in the country; and created jobs for 27,500 workers.

Social security and welfare are guaranteed. In 2020, the province supported nearly VND80 billion for more than 68,500 poor, near poor, social protection beneficiaries, workers, business households and pandemic affected employers. It also gave assistance worth over VND80 billion to revolutionary contributors and poor families, leading to a reduction of poverty rate to 1.04% and 100% of localities realizing the program on building new-style rural areas.
