The Ministry of National Defense (MND) held a meeting to announce and hand over personnel appointment decisions in Hanoi on November 3 under the chair of Defense Minister General Ngo Xuan Lich.
Based on the Central Military Commission’s proposals, the Prime Minister has signed decisions to appoint Senior Lieutenant General Le Huy Vinh, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, and Lieutenant General Vo Minh Luong, former Commander of Military Region 7, as two Deputy Defense Ministers, reported PANO.
Also at the meeting, General Lich handed a decision to appoint Major General Nguyen Truong Thang, Deputy Commander of Military Region 7, to the post of Commander of Military Region 7.
On behalf of the Central Military Commission, Ministry of National Defense, and troops in the military, General Lich congratulated the newly-appointed officers. He emphasized that the appointments demonstrated the trust of the Party, State, and military in them. This also shows the Party’s, State’s, Central Military Commission’s, and MND’s recognition of their abilities and achievements in the past.
The Defense Minister noted that in the coming time complicated and unpredictable developments in the world will pose significant challenges for the military. Therefore, the Politburo and Standing Committee of the Central Military Commission want them to effectively support MND in leading the military so that the military can obtain more achievements, deserving the trust of the Party, State, people in the military.
General Lich asked the new deputy defense ministers to clearly define their responsibilities, get used to their jobs soon, and closely follow situations of units in the whole military. They should continue to hone their expertise, acquire more knowledge, and give timely good advice to the Party and State on military and defense work.
General Lich urged the newly-appointed officers to raise their sense of responsibility, set examples for their subordinates, build internal solidarity, and pay attention to improving the spiritual and material lives of troops./.
