(13th Congress) - As of April, Hanoi gave assistance to 515,515 COVID-19 affected people, using capital of over VND608 billion, the City Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs has reported.

According to the department, people receiving support include revolutionary contributors, those who enjoy social protection, members of poor and nearly-poor households; employees whose labor contracts were suspended or who took unpaid leave; employees whose labor contracts or work contracts are terminated but are not eligible for unemployment benefits; workers without contracts, workers who lost their jobs, and business households facing difficulties due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Of which, the city assisted 170,673 social protection beneficiaries who are receiving monthly social allowances with over VND255 billion; and 136,638 members of poor and near-poor households with over VND102 billion.
The city Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs also said localities had completed assistance to people who are beneficiaries of the VND62 trillion package from the Government./.
