(13th Congress) - The Election Committee of Tra Vinh province has held the first session to check the preparation for election of deputies of the 15th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 term.

In his speech at the event, Mr. Kim Ngoc Thai, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Tra Vinh Party Committee, Chairman of the provincial People’s Council and President of the provincial Election Committee, asked executive committees and each member of the provincial Election Committee to focus on leadership, and closely direct the preparation for the election of deputies of the 15th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 term in accordance with the law.
According to a report of the Tra Vinh Election Committee; districts, towns, cities, communes, and wards in Tra Vinh have established the Election Committee and organized the implementation and grasp of the election at each level.
The Fatherland Front Committee at all levels in Tra Vinh has completed the first consultation meeting to agree on the structure and number of elected delegates and candidates for People’s Council deputies at the same level.
The planned number of deputies of the 15th National Assembly of Tra Vinh province in accordance with the allocation of the National Assembly Standing Committee is 6, including 2 introduced by Party Central Committee and 4 who reside and work in the locality.
At the first consultation meeting, delegates agreed to elect 50 deputies of the Tra Vinh People’s Council for the 2021-2026 term.
According to the Law on Election of deputies of the National Assembly and the People’s Council, the province has 14 constituencies with 3-5 delegates elected for the constituency./.
