Positive changes

By the end of 2020, Can Tho City welcomed many domestic and foreign investors to learn and sign cooperation deals. Urban development, real estate, industrial zones, trade, services, tourism and information technology received the most interest.

According to investors, it is no coincidence that they invest in the city, as through the survey, it has shown impressive growth in many fields, especially urban, real estate and commerce. Can Tho is the center of the Mekong Delta, so it attracts a large number of people from different places to work and start a career every year; thus, the demand for housing, shopping, entertainment and entertainment increases. This is a good opportunity to boost investment for development.

Chairman of the Can Tho City People's Committee Tran Viet Truong said that over the past time, Can Tho is proud of its many achievements, including good economic growth and development of the industrial and service sectors. The city has attracted a large amount of projects while it now has 11 supermarkets, 6 trade centers, 107 markets and 137 mini shops, satisfying the shopping demand for locals and tourists,” he added.

Ecological, civilized and modern city

Chairman Tran Viet Truong shared the city’s goal to 2030, with a vision to 2045, to build Can Tho into an ecological, civilized and modern city imbued with cultural identity in the Mekong Delta; and the region's center for commercial services, tourism, logistics, processing industry, and hi-tech agriculture. To achieve this goal, Can Tho is making breakthroughs in many aspects, including increasing the attraction of domestic and foreign investment in the fields of processing industry, mechanics, renewable energy, supporting industries; giving priority to projects using new, clean and economical technologies; building a logistics center; forming a system of warehouses, storage, transportation and large-scale airports, with advanced operation modes; attracting large and famous wholesale and retail groups to promote production and consumption; and improving the quality of goods and the distribution system in the province.

Leaders of the city Department of Transport said that the transportation industry is mobilizing maximum resources and using them effectively, focusing on traffic infrastructure projects which help increase regional links and those that play a role as a driving force for socio-economic development.

Meanwhile, Director of the city Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Khanh Tung said that the city will be more proactive in linking tourism development with the Mekong Delta provinces and cities. The advantage is that since Can Tho airport was in operation, it created favorable conditions for trade and tourism between Can Tho and the Central and Northern regions; connecting internationally, striving to make Can Tho an ideal, safe, friendly tourism destination, the convergence of Mekong civilization./.
