The event will take place from December 10 to 12 to honour and promote the cultural identity of the Muong ethnic group. 

It will be held by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with Thanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee, with the participation of hundreds of artisans, artists, actors, actresses and athletes from six localities, including Thanh Hoa, Hanoi, Hoa Binh, Son La, Phu Tho and Binh Phuoc.

A mass artistic troupe from Huaphanh province, Laos, will also participate in the event. 
Diverse activities demonstrating the unique cultural features of the Muong ethnic group such as the mass cultural festival; performance of traditional costumes; Muong ethnic handicraft weaving; gong performances; introduction of rituals of ethnic cultural activities of the Muong; and exhibition on characteristics of Muong ethnic culture in the cultural community of Vietnamese ethnic groups, will be held.

In the framework of the event, the Organizing Committee will organize a famtrip to survey community-based tourism and ecotourism in Thanh Hoa province, as well as organize tourism promotion and promotion booths. 

This is an opportunity for artisans, actors and athletes from 6 provinces to participate in exchanging experiences, raising awareness of all levels, branches and ethnic minorities in building and developing culture, and for Vietnamese people to meet the requirements of sustainable national development.

It is also an opportunity for provinces and cities to promote and introduce the typical cultural features of the Muong ethnic group within the entire Vietnamese ethnic community to a large number of people and tourists, thereby promoting the development of culture, tourism, especially community tourism and cultural tourism, promoting research and collection to preserve and develop various types of traditional cultural assets of the Muong ethnic group.

The Muong are the third largest among Vietnam's 54 ethnic groups, mainly living in the north-western region. 

The Muong ethnic group is the fourth largest population following Kinh, Tay and Thai groups in Vietnam./.
