Ambassador Sengphet Houngboungnuang, Head of the Lao diplomatic delegation in Vietnam, affirmed that, over the past 90 years, the Communist Party of Vietnam has led the people to fight for national independence in 1975, both building and protecting the country; and carried out the renewal process in 1986, thus gaining comprehensive and important results.
“With economic growth and important achievements in the Party and political system, Vietnam deserves to be a State of the people, by the people, for the people,” he said, adding that Vietnam’s position, therefore, had been enhanced in the international arena.
“In 2020, with the complicated developments of COVID-19, although Vietnam faced natural disasters, floods and landslides, Party Congresses at all levels succeeded," said the Lao Ambassador.
Ambassador Sengphet Houngboungnuang noted that the Communist Party of Vietnam had prepared the document of the 13th National Party Congress comprehensively and democratically, promoting the opinions of scientists and all classes of people.
Meanwhile, the provisional representative of the Cuban Embassy in Vietnam Irmina Perojo said that under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Vietnamese people had achieved very important socio-economic achievements, as well as success in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic. “Vietnam's success in COVID-19 prevention allowed it to host this very important political event,” she added. “That success also allows diplomats and representatives of international organizations in Vietnam to feel very safe, while other countries around the world are coping with an extremely complex pandemic.”
