The 8th meeting of the 10th Binh Thuan provincial People’s Council for the 2016-2021 term was organized on January 18 to elect the leader of the Provincial People’s Committee.

At the meeting, the delegates voted to release Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hai from the position of Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee for the 2016-2021 term and Mr. Ho Trung Phuoc from the position of Head of the Provincial People’s Council’s Economy - Budget Board for the 2016-2021 term.
Then, Mr. Le Tuan Phong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, was elected as Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee with 92.6% of votes.
Previously, at the 6th meeting of the 14th Executive Board of the Provincial Party Committee, Mr. Phong was elected as Deputy Secretary of the Binh Thuan provincial Party Committee.
Mr. Phong was born in 1974 and is from Ham Hiep commune, Ham Thuan Bac district, Binh Thuan province. He is a Master of construction technique.
He has been Deputy Chairman of the Phan Thiet city People’s Committee, Deputy Director of the Department of Planning and Investment, Director of the Department of Planning and Investment, and Deputy Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee.
At the 14th Provincial Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term, he was elected to the Executive Board of the Provincial Party Committee and then elected to the Standing Board of the Provincial Party Committee./.
