Ho Chi Minh City collects over 67 billion VND to support Central region

At the program, Vice Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Phan Kieu Thanh Huong said that as of 11am on November 2, the City Relief Committee had received more than 67.2 billion VND of money and goods, with over 62 VND billion in cash donated to help residents in the central provinces.

The City Relief Committee deducted nearly 16 billion VND to support the central provinces. Accordingly, Thua Thien Hue province is supported with 4 billion VND; Quang Binh province is supported 3 billion VND; Quang Nam province is supported 2 billion VND; Quang Tri province is supported 1.8 billion VND; Ha Tinh province, 1 billion VND; and Quang Ngai province, 500 million VND.

In addition, the City Relief Committee also deducted 3.5 billion VND to support 35 families of soldiers who died at Rao Trang 3 hydropower plant in Thua Thien Hue province and soldiers from the Defense - Economic Unit 337 in Quang Tri province. Each family is supported 100 million VND; and 150 million VND is provided to the family of Mr. Nguyen Van Binh, former Chairman of Thua Thien Hue province’s Phong Dien district People's Committee, who died while supporting flood victims in his district.

The City Relief Committee transferred goods worth over 5.2 billion VND, including instant noodle, rice, milk, mattress, bed net, raincoat, life jackets, food, notebooks and school bags.

At the program, the City Relief Committee received over 4.3 billion VND from 22 units, enterprises and individuals donating to support residents in the Central region./.
