(13th Congress) – Nguyen Thanh Phong, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, affirmed that the city authority was willing to help Uniqlo continue to expand business in the city in the future.

He made the statement during his reception for Osamu Ikezoe, General Director of Uniqlo, the Japanese group in Vietnam.
According to Chairman Phong, as Ho Chi Minh City is oriented to be built into a shopping center of Southeast Asia in the coming years, the presence of Uniqlo has helped city people to have more choices in garment products.
“Every year, the city regularly organises dialogues with Japanese businesses, as well as regularly works with the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) to listen to Japanese businesses’ difficulties and solve their problems, with the desire to provide them the most favorable environment.
Chairman Phong added that the new investment plans of Uniqlo will be a positive highlight in the Vietnam-Japan relationship, helping the relationship between the two sides continue to develop further. He also expressed his hope that Uniqlo consider cooperating with Vietnamese enterprises producing raw materials.
Thanking the city authority for actively supporting Uniqlo in its operation expansion, Mr. Osamu Ikezoe said that Uniqlo will strive to provide the best garment products in Vietnam because it considers Vietnam a potential market, especially Ho Chi Minh City./.
