About 2,000 officials, cadres, youths and public security officers participated in the annual 13th Red Sunday – a voluntary blood donation program, in the central province of Thanh Hoa on December 13, said the Vietnam News Agency.
The activity was jointly held by the National Traffic Safety Committee, the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion and Tien Phong (Vanguard) newspaper in cities and provinces nationwide.
In the near future, the provincial Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU) will urge officials, youth union members and students to spread the effort and play a vanguard role in blood donation movements.
On the occasion, the provincial HCYU presented certificates of merit to nine individuals and seven collectives in honour of their contributions to the voluntary blood donation movement./.
