Knowing that floods and landslides cause serious damage to people and property in several central provinces of Vietnam, United Nations Secretary General António Guterres sent a message of sympathy to the Vietnamese Government and people.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in the message, Guterres lauded the Vietnamese Government’s efforts to support affected families. He also affirmed that the UN stays ready to provide Vietnam with humanitarian assistance to help the country overcome this difficult time soon.
Earlier, leaders of many countries such as Laos, Thailand, Mongolia, and Cambodia also sent sent sympathy to the state and the people of Vietnam after the flood and landslides had caused serious damage to people and property in Vietnam central provinces./
