Speaking with the delegation, Phan Viet Cuong, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council and Chairman of the Provincial Election Council, said that the election had been prepared in progress. “The consultative meetings for voters’ ideas have been held in accordance with the central level’s instruction; security and social order have been ensured; the inspection over the election preparations has been regularly carried out; and the dissemination of the election has been spread,” he added.

According to Mr. Cuong, the third consultative meeting agreed with the list of 10 candidates for NA deputies and 91 for the provincial People’s Council deputies.

“A hotline will be set up to address all possible problems during election day,” he went on to say.

Praising the province’s thorough preparations, General To Lam asked the province to continue to disseminate the election information in diverse forms; diversify plans for ensuring political security and social order; firmly struggle against all distorted arguments, schemes and acts of the election destruction.

He noted that the province should promote the role of cadres, Party members and religious dignitaries in encouraging voters to join the election, especially women and ethnic minorities in remote and mountainous areas; stressing that preventive measures against COVID-19 must be carried out during the election.

He agreed with the province’s proposals on asking the National Election Council to allow the early election at border localities, and issue specific instructions for Vietnamese citizens abroad, especially those in Laos, to join the election./.
