(13th Congress) – The 9th Lam Dong People’s Council in its 16th session elected Chairman and Deputy Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee for the 2016-2021 term.

At the session, delegates agreed to release Mr. Doan Van Viet as Chairman of the Lam Dong People’s Committee due to retirement and release Mr. Nguyen Van Yen as Deputy Chairman of the People’s Committee due to being assigned another task.
With 97.01% of the votes, Mr. Tran Van Hiep, Deputy Secretary of the Lam Dong Party Committee, was elected Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee for the 2016-2021 term.
Mr. Tran Van Hiep was born in 1965, in Dien Ban district (Quang Nam province). He graduated from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and has qualification of advanced level of political theory.
Mr. Hiep used to hold the following positions: Deputy Secretary of the Lam Dong Communist Youth Union, Secretary of the Bao Lam district Party Committee, Deputy Head of the Lam Dong Party Committee’s Commission of Popularization and Education, Head of the Lam Dong Party Committee’s Commission of Popularization and Education, Head of the Lam Dong People Council’s Commission of Culture and Society, Deputy Secretary of the Lam Dong Party Committee, and Head of the 9th Lam Dong People Council’s Commission of Culture and Society
Mr. Dang Tri Dung, Director of the Lam Dong Department of Planning and Investment, was elected as Deputy Chairman of the Lam Dong People’s Committee for the term 2016-2021 with 100% of the votes.
Before being elected Deputy Chairman of the Lam Dong People’s Committee, Mr. Dung worked at the Office of the People's Committee and used to be Director of the Department of Planning and Investment./.
