Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung has approved the planning task of Bac Ninh province in the 2021-2030 period with a vision to 2050.

The planning scope covers the whole territory of Bac Ninh province with a total natural area of 822.71 km2, with 8/8 administrative units: Bac Ninh city, Tu Son town and six districts (Tien Du, Yen Phong, Que Vo, Thuan Thanh, Gia Binh and Luong Tai).

The objective of the planning is to achieve the objectives of analyzing and assessing the socio-economic situation of Bac Ninh province in the period of 2011-2020; concretizing the national master plan and regional planning related to Bac Ninh province on socio-economic activities, national defense, security, urban system and rural population distribution, linking infrastructure, land distribution, resource use and environmental protection.

The plan will help forecast and propose socio-economic development options for Bac Ninh province in the period of 2021-2030 and a vision to 2050, identify development perspectives, objectives and breakthroughs and fields, select the optimal plan, consistent with the potential and strengths of the province, and ensure long-term sustainable development on all three pillars, including economy, society and environment.

The plan is an important scientific basis and legal tool for Bac Ninh authorities at all levels to use in leading, directing, unifying state management, and making policy and motivating development. It is also a basis for developing and implementing plans for socio-economic development, public investment, investment attraction in Bac Ninh province, ensuring objectivity and science; organize development space to ensure the synchronous connection between national planning and regional planning and provincial planning in order to maximize the potential and advantages of the province, meeting green and sustainable socio-economic development requirements./.
