Central province focuses on satisfying housing demand for people in need

Accordingly, in the next 5 years, the province is expected to spend over VND9.8 trillion on housing development.

Specifically, by 2025, the province targets to support the construction of 1,118 houses for revolutionary contributors on an area of 50,292 square meters; 7,268 houses for poor households with total area of 327,060 square meters; 770 houses for workers with an area of 36,960 square meters and 2,364 social houses on an area of about 118,190 square meters, to meet housing needs for cadres, civil servants, public employees, and freelance workers and low income people.

Along with that, the province focuses on building 18,827 individual houses with a total area of about 2,214,271 square meters; 1,964 commercial houses with a total area of about 235,668 square meters and 236 official houses with an area of about 9,440 square meters, to meet the housing needs of different groups of residents.

According to Mr. Tran Quoc Nam, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, housing development is one of the important contents of the province's socio-economic development policy, associated with urban development and building of new style rural areas. “To promote housing development, the province issues mechanisms and policies to support housing for social policy beneficiaries, low-income people and the poor with housing difficulties, contributing to ensuring social security and developing urban and rural areas,” he added.

In the 2016-2020 period, the province built and repaired houses for nearly 1,100 revolutionary contributors with nearly VND30 billion; and 1,189 poor families./.
