This is also one of various activities to mark the 46th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 – 2021) and the 131st birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (1890-2021).
The photo exhibition includes 60 documentary photos on the elections of the Vietnamese National Assembly over previous tenures, and the elections of deputies to all-level People’s Council in Can Tho City, as well as the city’s remarkable achievements in security, defence, socio-economy and culture in recent years.
On the occasion, 100 documents on the regulations regarding the election of deputies to the National Assembly are also displayed.
The exhibition aims to raise public awareness of the role and position of the NA and People’s Councils in Vietnam’s political system while encouraging them to exercise their citizen rights and duties during the national elections.
On the same day, an exhibition was also kicked off at the city’s library to promote reading habits in the community. Named ‘Talents of Vietnam’, the exhibition displayed nearly 1,000 documents on the life and career of President Ho Chi Minh, and leaders of the Communist Party of Vietnam from 1930 until now, and other heroes in the country’s history.
The event aims to educate people, particularly the youth, on the great achievements of generations of the Vietnamese people in national construction and defence, particularly during the struggles for national independence and freedom.
The two exhibitions will last until May 24./.
