On April 27, within the framework of Digital Transformation Week - Hue 2021, the Vietnam Association For Information Processing and the Department of Information Technology (IT) under the Ministry of Information and Communications announced its readiness index for the application and development of information technology in Vietnam (Vietnam ICT Index) 2020.

Accordingly, Da Nang continued to be the leading locality in the country with a score of 0.9238, well ahead of second place Thua Thien - Hue with a difference of 12 percentage points. In particular, in terms of IT application index, Da Nang has increased the distance and far surpassed most other provinces and cities.

Started in 2005, Vietnam ICT Index is an official index that comprehensively evaluates the level of IT application across the country with separate sets of indicators for ministries, sectors, provinces and cities every year.

Vietnam ICT Index rankings is considered the most prestigious, quality and complete assessment in the country. This is the basis for the Ministry of Information and Communications and the local authorities to make appropriate decisions, select priority areas for investment, and promote the development of the IT industry and the IT industry across the country.

The Vietnam ICT Index is classified into groups of indicators on technical infrastructure, human infrastructure, IT application, online public services and local IT industry assessment, with over 100 indicators which are independently investigated, evaluated and tested.

Since 2009, Da Nang has been rated the top ranking, reflecting the effective deployment of IT application and development. The result also creates a premise for the city to conduct a comprehensive digital transformation under the policies of the Party, State and Government./.
