Can Tho City Election Committee held the second session on February 22 to discuss and agree on affairs relating to the election of 15th NA deputies and the election of deputies of the People's Council at all levels for the 2021-2026 term.

According to the Can Tho City Election Committee, the city has three election units for the 15th NA deputies: election unit No.1 including Ninh Kieu, Cai Rang and Phong Dien districts; election unit No.2 including Binh Thuy, O Mon and Thoi Lai districts; and election unit No.3 including Thot Not, Co Do and Vinh Thanh districts.
For the election of deputies to the Can Tho City People's Council for the 2021 – 2026 term, there will be 11 units. In the 2021-2026 term, the Can Tho City People’s Council has 54 deputies; people’s council at district level has 287 deputies and people’s council at commune level has more than 2,000 deputies.
At the meeting, the Can Tho City Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee said that the first consultation meeting had been organized successfully to agree on the structure, composition, and number of candidates for the 15th NA deputies and the Can Tho City People's Council for the next term, and continue to perform works to organize the second consultation meeting.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Pham Van Hieu, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Council, and Chairman of the Can Tho City Election Committee, asked the members and the support team to carefully prepare for the election of deputies to the 15th NA and People's Councils at all levels. Accordingly, it must strictly follow the instructions of the National Election Committee. The Can Tho City Election Committee must carefully prepare works, well prepare for the second consultation meeting, list, and composition of candidates. At the same time, it must establish a unit to receive nominated dossiers to ensure the right process and deadline as instructed./.
