Building Phu Yen into rich, civilized and gradually modernized locality

General Ngo Xuan Lich, Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission and Minister of National Defense, addressed the directions at the opening ceremony of the 17th Phu Yen Party Congress (term 2020-2025) on October 14th.

The event was attended by representatives of ministries, departments and branches, and 320 delegates representing more than 43,500 party members.

In his speech at the event, Mr. Pham Dai Duong, Secretary of the Phu Yen Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, said that over the past 5 years, the Executive Board of the provincial Party Committee focused on directing and leading the implementation of 14 out of 18 major targets set by the Resolution of the 16th Phu Yen Party Congress.

The economy continues to remain stable and maintain a fair growth rate with average annual GRDP growth of 7%. Economic structure continues to shift toward the right direction of increasing the proportion of industry-construction and services, while the agriculture-forestry-fishery sector has been invested and developed in the direction of increasing application of science and technology in production. Per capita GRDP in 2020 is estimated at VND52.9 million, 1.6 times higher than 2015.

General Ngo Xuan Lich stressed that the Congress has a very important task of discussing and contributing ideas to the draft documents of central congresses, electing the Executive Board of the Phu Yen Party Committee (term 2020-2025) and a delegation to attend the 13th National Party Congress.

He urged the congress to uphold its responsibility to choose and elect qualified, capable and trustworthy comrades to the Executive Board with sufficient quantity and reasonable structure.

As scheduled, the 17th Phu Yen Party Congress runs until October 16.

Earlier, on October 13, General Ngo Xuan Lich and a delegation of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense offered incense at the Monument of Martyrs of Nhan Mountain, and visited and presented gifts to Vietnam Heroic Mothers./.
