The event was organized by the Delegation of the European Union to Vietnam with the support of the EU Public Outreach Project (EUPOP) and the participation of the Embassies of EU Member States and the European Cultural Center in Vietnam.
In addition to cities where the event is held annually such as Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City and Hue, this year the festival will take place in the southern city of Can Tho for the first time. It is held to mark the 30th anniversary of the establishment of EU-Vietnam diplomatic relations.
Mindful that the festival takes place in a world deeply effected by the sudden outbreak of COVID-19, the Organizing Committee wants to send a message to the audience through these films: Although there are failures, loneliness, and loss, we still have to try, because we have love and aspiration towards a brighter future.
These include movies such as: Reunion (Belgium); Before Dawn (Germany); Side by Side (Romania); Teacher Twister on the Field (Netherlands); Budapest School Nights (Hungary); Perfect Stranger (Italy); Louise on the Coast (France); Silence of Fellow (Spain); Brooklyn (Ireland), and; On this Occasion Every Year (Denmark).
The films will show viewers the journeys of youth and maturity, history and present life, complex family values and ego in the crowded world, of contradictions and hope./.
