Earlier, in a letter to Chairwoman of the Vietnamese NA Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, the Speaker of the FSM National Assembly said Vietnam had always been in the hearts of Micronesian people this year, adding that the FSM National Assembly and people are impressed by the way Vietnam deals with the COVID-19 pandemic.

Receiving the information of serious losses caused by floods in central Vietnam, the FSM National Assembly has passed a legal provision giving USD100,000 in aid to help flood victims.

The FSM National Assembly Speaker affirmed that this is a small gesture, but considering the small population of Micronesia, each Micronesia citizen has contributed nearly a dollar to support Vietnamese flood-affected people.

The FSM National Assembly and people hope all people, especially women and children, in Vietnam will be at peace and overcome this challenging year.

In her letter of thanks, Vietnamese NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan highly appreciated the kind gesture from the FSM National Assembly and people to the Vietnamese people.

She also affirmed that Vietnam treasures and wants to promote the friendly and cooperative relations between the States, legislative bodies and peoples of the two countries./.
