(13th Congress) – According to the Quang Ngai provincial Fatherland Front, as of November 3, the province received over VND63 billion from 60 agencies, businesses and individuals as support for overcoming the consequences caused by the 9thstorm.

The donations came from an appeal from the front released on October 28.
Many agencies and businesses donated large amounts of money such as the State Bank of Vietnam (VND20 billion), the Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (VND8 billion), Hoa Phat Group (VND5 billion) and the Truong Hai Auto Corporation (VND2 billion).
The provincial Veterans’, Women’s and Farmers’ Associations encouraged their members to donate at least 1 day of salary each, while the provincial Confederation of Labour earmarked VND200 million and the Ho Chi Minh city Confederation of Labour also donated VND100 million.
Meanwhile, the provincial Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union called on and linked assistance to give over 11,000 presents worth over VND4 billion to affected residents. Its members have also actively helped local residents sanitise the environment.
The 9th storm hitting Quang Ngai province destroyed over 570 houses, 450 educational foundations, 70 medical stations, 105 communal houses, diverse traffic roads and irrigation canals./.
