(13th Congress) - The Vietnam Fatherland Front in Ho Chi Minh city received over VND70.3 billion in support of people affected by recent serious floods and storms, the organization reported on November 2.

Of the capital, over VND65 billion is in cash and the rest in goods and essential items.
On the evening of November 2 alone, the organization received VND500 million from the Ho Chi Minh city Power Corporation, marking its third phase of donation with a total capital of VND1.5 billion.
Medical staff from Binh Dan Hospital also contributed over VND305 million and the city Post Office donated over VND214 million, bringing the total donation in November to over VND4.3 billion.
According to Phan Kieu Thanh Huong, Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in Ho Chi Minh city, the organization will work with socio-political organizations to spend donations from agencies, sponsors and businesses carrying out support for central localities, after the results of surveys on the localities’ needs and proposals are released.
Apart from rescue and resource collection activities, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union in the city has set up delegations of volunteers to repair water and power systems, build houses and give medical treatment to affected people./.
