Fishermen encouraged to firmly protect sea and island sovereignty

The national flags, Uncle Ho photos and scholarships were presented by the provincial Border Guard High Command, while the Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade (VietinBank) gave 100 presents worth VND1 million each to beneficiaries’ and poor families.

On this occasion, local youngsters cleaned up the environment in coastal areas in Hoa Hiep Nam ward, Dong Hoa town.

In realization of the program “For the sea and island sovereignty”, from January 19 to February 2, the border guard forces presented over 200,000 national flags and 60,000 Uncle Ho photos to people in coastal border residents; hundreds of houses and hundreds of thousands of presents; and scholarships worth nearly VND10 billion to beneficiaries’ families and poor families, as well as poor pupils.

According to Secretary of the Phu Yen provincial Party Committee Pham Dai Duong, over the past years, fishermen have always led in joining the protection of sea and island sovereignty and security in coastal border areas. “The national flags and Uncle Ho photos presented will add more driving force for Phu Yen’s fishermen,” he said.
