(13th Congress) - The Da Nang City People's Committee has just issued a decision approving the project "Building Da Nang - Environment City" for the period 2021 - 2030, with a total cost of VND15.546 trillion.

The project aims to maintain and enhance the goals of building an environmental city according to the project approved in 2008.
The project also targets to prevent and minimize environmental pollution and degradation in residential areas, industrial zones, coastal areas and natural landscape areas; ensure the quality of the water, soil and air environment; with special attention paid to the problems of overcoming air pollution caused by transportation, industrial environmental management, and hazardous waste management.
Under the project, the city will economically exploit natural resources, minerals, water sources and forests, ensuring ecological balance and proactively responding to climate change; and develop smart processes and systems for the management of natural resources.
Accordingly, the specific objectives are divided into 4 groups: preventing and controlling environmental pollution; improving the environment, solving key environmental problems; conserving nature and biodiversity; and increasing capacity building and people’s awareness on environmental protection.
The city will strive to meet the set targets and goals by 2025, creating safety of health and environment for people, investors, and domestic and foreign tourists./.
