The request was made by Pham Minh Chinh, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee (PCC) and Head of the PCC Commission on Organization, during his and the Quang Ninh provincial delegation of National Assembly deputies’ meeting with voters in Quang Yen town, the northern province of Quang Ninh on November 22.

Being informed of the result of the 10th session of the 14th National Assembly, voters in the town appreciated the discussion and adoption of 7 laws and 13 resolutions; discussion of 4 draft laws; contribution to the draft documents to the 13th National Party Congress; and especially Q&A session.

The voters also sent aspirations and suggestions relating to mechanism and policies to accelerate the rapid development of the Quang Yen coastal economic zone, especially attraction of investment from large domestic and foreign businesses and groups to the clean industry, processing and manufacturing industry, as well as hi-tech industry; and strictly inspect the operation of industrial zones to avoid the use of backward technologies that affect the environment, and to create jobs for local labourers.

During the meeting, Pham Minh Chinh received voters’ proposals, and urged local authorities to carry out solutions to protect the environment and ensure safety for residents in low coastal areas in the context of climate change.

He added that the Quang Yen coastal economic zone has significant potential for development, which aroused great attraction from investors. “It is a big opportunity for the town to make comprehensive change, become a multi-sectoral coastal area, and establish itself as a modern industrial, service and logistics center,” he said, adding that the town should make thorough planning and invest in synchronous infrastructure for it./.
