On November 21, speaking at a meeting with voters after the National Assembly session, Secretary of Hanoi City Party Committee Vuong Dinh Hue said the 18th session of Hanoi City People’s Council will consolidate a series of important issues for the year 2021 and the next 5 years of the city.

Specifically, Mr. Hue said, "At the session, Hanoi People's Council will strengthen the title of Chairman of the City People's Council and five Vice Chairmen of the City People's Committee.”

The current Chairman of Hanoi People's Council is Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc. The two Vice Chairmen of the City People's Council are Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tuan and Ms. Phung Thi Hong Ha. Both of them participate in the Executive Board, the Standing Board of Hanoi City Party Committee, term 2020-2025.

At the 17th Hanoi City Party Congress, Ms. Ngoc was not re-elected to the Executive Board of the City Party Committee, term 2020-2025. Mr. Tuan was re-elected as Deputy Secretary of Hanoi City Party Committee. As assigned by the Standing Board of the Hanoi City Party Committee, he was introduced to the position of Chairman of the City People's Council.

At present, Mr. Chu Ngoc Anh is Chairman of Hanoi City People’s Council. The six Vice Chairmen of the City People’s Committee are Nguyen Van Suu, Nguyen The Hung, Nguyen Quoc Hung, Le Hong Son, Ngo Van Quy and Nguyen Doan Toan.

At the 17th Hanoi Party Congress, only two Vice Chairmen of Hanoi City People's Committee, including Mr. Son and Mr. Toan, participated in the Executive Board of Hanoi City Party Committee, term 2020-2025.

At the first meeting, the City Party Committee elected Mr. Son and Mr. Toan to the Standing Board of the City Party Committee, term 2020-2025.

At the meeting on October 26, the Standing Board of Hanoi City Party Committee assigned duties of 16 members of the Standing Board. Accordingly, Mr. Le Hong Son continues to be the Vice Chairman of the Hanoi City People's Committee, while Mr. Nguyen Doan Toan is assigned to the position of Head of the City Party Committee Commission of Mobilization./.
