The Party Committee for Civil Affairs and the leaders of the Ministry of Information and Communications held a ceremony in Hanoi on November 17 to announce the decision of the Prime Minister appointing Mr. Nguyen Huy Dung as Deputy Minister of Information and Communications.
Accordingly, Mr. Nguyen Huy Dung, Head of the Authority of Information Technology Application, is appointed Deputy Minister of Information and Communications under Decision 1818/QD-TTg by Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on November 16, 2020.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung, member of the Party Central Committee (PCC), Minister of Information and Communications and Deputy Head of the PCC Commission of Popularization and Education, congratulated the new Deputy Minister Nguyen Huy Dung.
He said that Information technology, digital transformation and digital technology are key areas of the country. In the next 5 years, and in the vision to 2045, Vietnam wants to become strong and prosperous, and it must rely mainly on science, technology and innovation, in which digital technology plays an important role. Therefore, the Information and Communications sector needs cadres who are well trained in the right profession.
According to Minister Nguyen Manh Hung, the appointment of Deputy Minister Nguyen Huy Dung demonstrates the Party's belief and high appreciation. Deputy Minister Nguyen Huy Dung is currently the only Deputy Minister in Vietnam born in the 1980s.
Mr. Nguyen Huy Dung has worked at the Ministry of Information and Communications (previously the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications) for 13 years. He has held positions as Deputy Head of the Department of Information Security and Head of the Department of Information Security./.
